Dustin Weeden

Associate Vice President

Dustin Weeden joined SHEEO in October 2017. He currently serves as an associate vice president, working out of SHEEO’s Boulder office. In this role, he leads SHEEO’s research and policy analysis related to state authorization and college affordability. He currently leads projects focused on improving state consumer protection policies and FAFSA simplification. Mr. Weeden’s research interests include building the capacity and improving the effectiveness of SHEEO agencies, financial risk assessment, strategic finance planning, and innovative affordability policies.

Prior to joining SHEEO, he served as a senior policy specialist with the National Conference of State Legislatures. In this role, Mr. Weeden coordinated the Legislative Education Staff Network, tracked and analyzed state higher education legislation, and authored policy briefs, research reports, blog posts, and State Legislatures magazine articles. Mr. Weeden holds an M.P.P from the University of Denver and a B.A. in history and political science from Kansas State University.
