Who Should Attend the Higher Education Policy Conference

The mission of SHEEO is to assist state higher education executives and the states as they develop and sustain excellent systems of higher education. As part of its mission, SHEEO presents an annual conference, usually during the second full week of August, with sessions directly supporting the professional development of state higher education academic officers (SHEAOs), finance officers (SHEFOs), government relations and communications officers (GRCOs), chief information officers (CIOs) and executive assistants.

While the SHEEO Higher Education Policy Conference is designed by and for the SHEEO community, all who are interested in the issues of higher education public policy -- policy analysts in state or federal governments, academic researchers, association staff, and legislative and executive branch staff -- are encouraged to attend and participate. We also welcome appropriate sponsors and industry representatives who are interested in the session topics.

Formerly known as the SHEEO Professional Development Conference, this year the name of the meeting has been changed to the SHEEO Higher Education Policy Conference to better reflect the purpose of the meeting.
