KANSAS BOARD OF REGENTS DIRECTOR FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

The Kansas Board of Regents invites applicants to fill the position of Director for Academic Affairs. The nine-member Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the state’s six universities and the statewide coordinating board for the state’s 32 public higher education institutions (six state universities, one municipal university, nineteen community colleges, and six technical colleges).

Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Director for Academic Affairs is responsible for working collaboratively to evaluate and develop academic policies/procedures and to lead new and current strategic initiatives for the Kansas higher education system.  The director is also responsible for such activities as:  processing curriculum proposals; grant administration; coordinating annual and biannual reports; and ensuring compliance with state statutes and Board policy. 

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution; minimum of three years of relevant experience in higher education; strong analytic, organizational, and interpersonal skills; and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary range is $70,000 to $75,000 and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
